Should we be using 2.6 instead of 2.7.3, given that this course is a couple years old would that be a reason to use 2.7.3? Thanks!

Any 2.x will do including the new 2.7.4, there are very little in differences and the 2.x versions are kept compatible with each other. The 3.x on the other hand has a few differences that may be confusing to some. The most noticeable are in print statements, input and the '/' operator.
