Which of the following is not an example of irony? A student is suspended for skipping school. The CEO of an identity theft prevention company has his identity stolen. On a snowy, cold day, a man says to a passerby, “Great day for a stroll!” You switch cell phone companies for more minutes and unlimited text messaging but discover you do not have coverage at your house.

i·ro·ny The expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect. Soo it would be the last one (:
A student is suspended for skipping school. NOT ironic. It's not weird. It is likely to happen.
The first one : A student is suspended for skipping school.
The snowy day comment is the only line that contains no irony of any kind. While taking a stroll on a snowy day isn't one person's idea of "nice" in a thousand, it certainly isn't ironic that someone might think it is. The remark may be snide, sarcastic or even machismo, but it's not ironic. As for the school "skipping", a kid would cut school because he didn't want to go. The irony here is that his punishment is such that he isn't allowed to go.
Good job. I didn't think of it that way. :) But there could be other reasons for skipping school too, right? Ah, not to debate on it.
A. - Seems to be the most plausible.
