If you've got two points on a circle, the minor arc is the one connecting them with traveling the least distance.

Look at it as if you were traveling around the world. Your goal is now to get from one city to another. The most efficient way ist to travel in a direct line. Now the minor arc would be to directly go to the next city, and the major arc to travel in the opposite direction ( around the world ) until you reach that city.

For your problem look at the distance, the answers cover. For example \(AB\) is half a circle, and \(DB\) about one fifth. After doing so you compare the values and choose the smalles value.
