ALGEBRA 2 HELP, PLEASE FOR EXTRA CREDIT AND I NEED IT. PLEASE! 1. If the number 86 in base ten is represented as 321 in base b, what is the base-ten representation of the number 123 in base b?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

86 = 3 x b^2 + 2 x b + 1 => (3 x b + 2) x b = 85 85 = 5 x 17 so b=5 123_b = 1 x b^2 + 2 x b + 3 = 38 I tried my best(:
