The three Math Idol judges have been eliminating contestants all day! The number of one-step equations and two-step equations who have been eliminated today is equal to 1070! If three times the number of one-step equations minus twice the number of two-step equations is equal to 110, how many one-step equations auditioned today?

Okay so the first thing you would do is write out the info they have given you. They tell you that the number of one step equations (we will use x to represent this) plus the number of two step (we will use y to represent this) equals 1070. So can you write that out? Then we will move on! (if you cant write it out just try your best then I will tell you the answer.

3-x=y??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wen u give me the answer can you show your work ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep, one sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So first you write it out,|dw:1365693233784:dw| |dw:1365693529911:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i cant see it all. its going to the side

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have number 11 too??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then to check that you do....|dw:1365693717358:dw|
