Identify the sequence as arithmetic, geometric, or neither. Explain your answer. 1.6, 0.8, 0.4, 0.2, . . . (2 points)

OpenStudy (sw050399):

Well, geometric sequences are sequences where the term is multiplied by a common factor to get the next term. Arithmetic sequences are sequences in which something has to be added to the term to get the next one. Which situation do you have?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because it is being divided instead of added/subtracted, the sequence is geometric. (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (sw050399):

No problem :)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I have never ever in my life heard that adding and subtracting is a geometric sequence! No it's not !!! it is arithmetic !!!!
