So...what's your question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how is your immune system fighting off the infection and how is the virus invading your cells?

thomaster (thomaster):

virus invades cells in different ways. This is an animation how a retrovirus (like HIV) invades the cell. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhhRQ4t95OI There are many other types of viruses. The immune sytem responds by making antibodies (B-lymphocytes make them). The most effective way for antibodies to destroy antigens is by activating complement proteins to help attack the antigens. Another way for antibodies is by attaching to the antigens. This will make the invades clump together and makes it easier for white blood cells to destroy them.
