OpenStudy (xximhisgirlxx):

Genetic drift is more likely to be significant in small populations. A shift in a gene pool’s content can be caused by random fluctuations in allele frequencies due to accident & chance losses removing one trait more than another, but this is rarely significant in large populations. In large populations random events tend to cancel out. The random event’s impact is most profound on small population, this can produce a founder effect in a small initial gene pool.

mostly affects small population. the random change in allele cannot change a large population so quickly as it would to a small population.
