Check on this please? x^2+8x= -6 what value should be added to both sides of the equation. I came up with 16. @satellite73

You want the form ax^2 + bx + c = 0 The "a" for x^2 in this case happens to be "1".

OpenStudy (jkristia):

If you have to solve for x, then add 6 to both sides to get X^2 + 8x + 6 = 0 And now you can solve for x by factoring
