Let x = width of the rectangle
 x+5 = length of the rectangle 

Perimeter = 2(W) + 2(L) = 38
 2(x) + 2(x+5) = 38
 2x + 2x + 10 = 38
 4x + 10 = 38

 

4x = 28
 x= 7 yd Width
 x+5 = 12 yd Length 


Area = L*W =  12yd * 7 yd = ----------sq cm.
