What would a drummer do to make the sound of a drum give a note of lower pitch? a. hit the drum skin with a larger force b. hit the drum skin with a smaller force c. hit the drum skin nearer the edge d. loosen the drum skin

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a and b will only alter only the amount of sound produced and not the pitch... c. hitting it near the edge causes ripple effect giving a low frequency tone... d. loosening the drum skin will make the drum to oscillate more freely allowing it to vibrate with a greater magnitude, producing low frequency waves... P.S: good question by the way...
