Can anyone explain how to solve this equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ t }{ t-1 } = \frac{ t+2 }{ t }\]

geerky42 (geerky42):

HINT: cross multiply

geerky42 (geerky42):

You should get t² = (t - 1)(t + 2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, and after that how should I simplify? :(

geerky42 (geerky42):

Expand right side : t² = t² + t - 2 0 = t - 2 \(\boxed{t = 2}\)

geerky42 (geerky42):

To expand (t - 1)(t + 2), use FOIL or box method.

geerky42 (geerky42):

Is this clear?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes! Crystal clear. thanks a lot

geerky42 (geerky42):
