Im guessing this picture is not drawn to any scale :P

so you can scale the numbers since the triangles are the same just different sizes, so

you total length in the one side is:
12+8 so 20
12/20=0.6

So our smaller triangle is 60% smaller then the larger one,
So for that smaller length CE we can use:
14*0.6=#

So 10*0.6 will get us the distance for DE
10*0.6=answer
