For the individual medley:

sample size: 80

sample mean: 5853

sample S.D: 1961

population mean: u2


Is there suffcient evidence to indicate that the average number of meters per week spent practcing the breast stroke is greater for exclusice breast strokers than it is for those swimming the indivudal medely?

and the alternative hypotheses was : Ha=u1>u2

but now its saying to calculate the observed value of the appropriate statistic, I am stuck here

i believe its asking, if we ignore the normal graph for u2, how does u2 relate to the graph of u1. what is its observed value in relation to u1
