I need to know which ones are underlined.

Everyone in Max’s family 'like' to do jigsaw puzzles. One of the puzzles 'is' missing a corner piece. Both of Max’s cousins 'are' searching for it on the rug. Neither of them 'is' able to find it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Boxes of cereal 'are' available in the cafeteria. Every student who arrives early 'eats' breakfast there. Peter’s favorite breakfast 'are' pancakes and syrup. Most students 'do' homework while they eat.

Okay, let's look at the first group. Is 'like' something you can physically do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, there's one sentence incorrect. Can you physically do 'is'?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not understanding the question.. Or how I'm espoused to find the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And we can't do 'are' either. So pretty much the whole first paragraph is incorrect.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then which one do I pick if they're all incorrect

OpenStudy (anikhalder):

1. Everyone in Max's family likes to do jigsaw puzzles. 'likes' instead of 'like' So first answer is 'like'(the incorrect underlined verb) Other sentences are alright. 2.Peter’s favorite breakfast is pancakes and syrup. 'is' instead of 'are' So second answer is 'are'(the incorrect underlined verb) Other sentences are alright.
