8. [6.03] What is the value of the y variable in the solution to the following system of equations? 13x - 6y = 20 7x + 4y = 18 (5 points)

2 1 -2 -1

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

This system s solvable many ways. However, if you take the bottom equation, multiply by 2, then subtract the first equation from it, you will have a single x. Then you can solve for that x and know what x is in terms of y. Next, you replace the x in either with that. This will give you the entire equation in y. You can then solve for y and have the answer.
