Scientists have developed genetically engineered plants that are pest-resistant. By adding genes to the plant’s DNA, they become toxic to insects (but not to plants or animals). This means that these plants may not need to be sprayed with pesticides to ward off the insects. Would you be willing to eat these genetically altered crops? Explain your answer. What are some possible impacts (positive or negative) of this genetically engineered plant on the environment, society, and individuals?
Actually whether we know it or not most fruits and vegetables genetically engineered are common. Thats why most fruits and vegetables we eat are most likely engineered (not all) Hmm advantage- well it does prevent pesticides and also prevents diseases from occuring. Even some plants lack some essential nutrition, so when they make genetically engineered food/ plants they can add vitamins and nutrients that the old plant didnt have. Disadvantage- well although it can kill pesticides, sometimes a mutation may occur where a new insects to forms where they are not resistant. Meaning that they will fight whatever that kills and win.
