Just a suggestion for Ambies and all members who are welcoming new users. ~~~~ When a new user asks a question, its always nice to say "Welcome to OpenStudy". However I don't think its polite to write a 200-300 word welcome, detailing every asset of OS, only to leave the person "hanging". Instead of encouraging them to continue using the site, it seems like we scare them. Another thing I see, and I admit to have done at times, is interrupting the student & teacher while they are posting. Once again, nothing wrong with saying "Welcome to OS". Perhaps a slightly briefer welcome and choosing the moment more wisely. (:
yeah i agree, its better to write something short and sweet :)
I agree with you whole 100%, I don't think 2 pages essay are all that necessarily , frankly I think it is spamming. There is one guy who does that
'I don't think its polite to write a 200-300 word welcome' <---Totally agreed! I have already asked them to keep it short and sweet. 'interrupting the student & teacher while they are posting' <---i already warned them not to do this, this can be irritating for both asker and answerer, feel free to report such instances or maybe first requesting them not to do it. http://openstudy.com/study#/updates/515dae12e4b0161ab93d46b2
It was already discussed and the ambassadors have been requested to make it short :)
