What is the difference between a quinceñeras and a sweet sixteen?

Quince = fifteen
The origin of the quinceñeras: At 15 young girls came out into society.

Sweet Sixteen
Birthday bash for girls who turn 16. It doesn't really have a "tradition" involved in it.

(: Pretty much... she's dressed up like a princess, with a court, dance, etc... Its sort of like a wedding, without a groom. Haha.
