Write the following expression as a sum and/or difference of logarithms. express power as factors. log(base d) (u^2 v^5) u>0, v>0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(\log_du^2v^5=\log_du^2+\log_dv^5=2\log_du+5\log_dv\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow now that I see it done doesn't look that scary. then what does the u>0 and v>0 play in the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they tell us that because neither u nor v can equal 0, else the equation would be undefined because log(0) does not have an answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay thank you!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

of course :)
