The Sun is responsible for very little radioactivity. Cosmic rays are acknowledged to contribute to radioactivity and radiation exposure. Depending on where you live rock contains a great deal of radioactivity present since the formation of the earth and some rock has the highest radioactivity on Earth. So I would say rock is the main source of radioactivity on Earth. Dirt is mainly dust and organic detritus containing little radioactivity.
