what is diffusion

thomaster (thomaster):

Diffusion is the process of passively movement of any substance from higher concentration to the lower concentration of that substance.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

complicated

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so turning from high concentration to low concentration right?

thomaster (thomaster):

Yes, Maybe this video will explain better. http://highered.mcgraw-hill.com/sites/0072495855/student_view0/chapter2/animation__how_diffusion_works.html

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

Diffusion is a microscopic, random and irreversible process by which particles, by their own agitation, move from concentrated areas to less concentrated areas. This video is very good too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oLPBnhOCjM

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in simple terms it's more like dissolving but in scientific terms- it's like particles moving from a higher concentration area to a lower concentration area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so whatever you have will move in either direcrtion depending on the concentration. like for example when you have something really filled it would want to move to somewhere with more space.

thanks
