help with #16
may I help you with #14 instead?
Get the 1/5 of 135. Then do the same with the answers you will get.
@nincompoop :LMAO
LOL
okay then let me work on #14 since I think I can do that part… I will leave 16 for you :) JAY KAY! okay let us start this the tedious way: 185 x 0.15 = a a x 0.15 = b b x 0.15 = c you get the idea right?
a response would be nice @evy15 or are you waiting for us to spoon-feed you the actual answer?
for the first one just multiply 135 with 4/5 to get the second week then multiply 135 with (4/5)^2 for the third week and so on its like a geometric progression. for the second one the exponential form is a*(r)^(n-1) where a = 135 and r = 4/5 for the third one . a*(r)^(n-1)< 15 substituting the values and seeing the table from 1 we get that n= 11 so n -1 = 10 therefore in 10th week the time is less than 15 mins for the last one. n=20 there time taken is 135*(4/5)^(20-1) = 2 mins (approx)
let us break this down one-by-one first week you worked 135 minutes and it says that each week that followed you decreased the time by 1/5 so let us do this 135 x 0.85 = 114.75 minutes in our second week (0.75 minutes means you have 45 mins, yes?) here I used 0.85 instead of doing 135 x 0.15 = 20.25 then 135 - 20.25 = 114.75 now the third week, we start where we left off 114.75 x 0.85 = 97.5375 minutes (0.5375 means we have 30 something odd minutes, right?) fourth week 97.5375 x 0.85 = 82.906875 minutes … and it follows the same pattern until you are on your 8th week
I like to teach the concept first before throwing in some formula @dhanamkoilraj
well thanks to both, i appreciate it
5/5 - 1/5 what is the definition of a fraction? a part of a whole…
oh okay, thanks
