I got (-infinity,sqroot1)U(sqroot1,infinity)
it's just that x2-1 should be greater than 0,so it's not (-inf,1)U(1,inf) which means (-inf,inf) which is not the answer but look at it once again and you'll see what is not right!
x^2 - 1 > 0 so x^2 > 1 there x belongs to (-infinity , -1)U1,infinity
