Chet is a salesman whose base pay plus commissions amounted to $48,560 last year. If his base pay was $22,380 and he made $74,800 in sales last year, what was his rate of commission? A. 65% B. 35% C. 30% D. 46%
Well we can say that his total salary is his base pay + commision sales. So in this case \[22,380 + x(74,800) = 48,560\] Does that make sense so far?
Yes
Great so solve for x and that is the decimal version of your answer. Multiply it by 100 to turn it in to a percentage. Let me know how you do!
Thanx hea! :) that realy helped!
Its my first time in this blog, would u mind telling me a little about it?
I don't really know what the official line is but: You can use the '@' tag to mention someone, if you want there attention. For example @Walsh On a given question you can give a medal to the person who gave a good response by clicking the blue banner on the right of each post. You can fan people and send them messages. And most importantly ask any question no matter how easy or hard, generally someone will have a crack at it. When you are answering questions try not to give the answer, but instead point the asker in the right direction. If you want to do posh mathematical notation you can use this notation \ (\) although make sure there are no gaps like I've left. Then you can write things like \(x = 5\) and it looks all proper. Apart from that it's pretty straight forward. I know that was a bit of a life story. Let me know if you have any other question!
I guess I hinted, but thanks anyway!!
Yes u did hint! and this blog thing sounds a little confusing but i shall get used to it,,.. thank u..
I have another question, but i dont kniw how to post it...
See on the left hand side of your screen where all the questions are? Above that it should say in a box "Ask a question"
