I Need Help! In the figure below, segment RS is the altitude of the hypotenuse of triangle PQR. Which proportionality statement is true? A: RS/QP = QS/RS B: RS/QP = PS/RS C: RS/QS = PS/RS D: RS/QS = QR/RS http://learn.flvs.net/webdav/assessment_images/educator_geometry_v14/pool_Geom_3641_0309_16/image0134e2573cc.jpg

thats as close as it gets

Look, theres a picture of it @eSpeX

OpenStudy (espex):

So if you take the smaller triangle and oriented it the same as the larger triangle, assuming they are proportional triangles, which sides would then correspond to each other?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No idea, only see RS = QS i think

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ill provide the info, but u do the deduction

OpenStudy (espex):

:) We were getting there.

OpenStudy (espex):

The altitude to the hypotenuse of a right triangle forms two triangles that are similar to each other and to the original triangle.

the answer is C. am i right?

OpenStudy (espex):

That would be the answer I would choose. :)

@Luis_Rivera i chose answer C, am i right?
