Which of the following shows the factors of 4x^2 - 10x + 6?Select one of the options below as your answer: A. (2x - 2)(2x - 3) B. (2x + 1)(2x - 6) C. (4x - 3)(x + 2) D. (4x + 1)(x - 6)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

4x^2-10x+6 2(2x^2-5x+3) 2(2x^2-2x-3x+3) 2((2x^2-2x)+(-3x+3)) 2(2x(x-1)+(-3x+3)) 2(2x(x-1)-3(x-1)) 2(2x-3)(x-1) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4x^2-10x+6 completely factors to 2(2x-3)(x-1)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Apparently they didn't completely factor since they forgot about the 2 out front, but luckily you can distribute that back in 2(2x-3)(x-1) 2(x-1)(2x-3) (2x-2)(2x-3) kinda odd, but oh well
