OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve the system by substitution .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (mertsj):

How about solving the third equation for either x or z and substituting in the other two equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wel how do you do it the elimination way?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Well which is it elimination or substitution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought subsitution was when you plug in numbers t find it but i can see how it would be the same thing

OpenStudy (mertsj):

2x+2z=4 Solve that for x and tell me what you get

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ill just solve the whole thing and tell you what i get ;)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so does z =25?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh my goodness i dont know how to do this one lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve the first equation for something and then plug it into the second one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so do i like times both equations i use by 2 and 1?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Well, then why don't you do what I said to do. I said it twice. This is the 3rd and final time. Solve the third equation for x. Put that name for x into the second equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

rude much.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

his way works to

OpenStudy (mertsj):

how can you help someone who refuses to do what you say when you know it is the simplest way to get the solution?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

That is what is rude. Ask for help. Someone takes time to help you and then to help you again and then to help you again. Then you call them rude!!! What is wrong with this picture?
