Where might a pronoun’s antecedent appear? before the noun in the sentence after the noun in the sentence all of the above in an entirely different sentence

Anti- is a prefix that means before. However, "I did this." uses the pronoun I without an antecedent. Herm... been too long since I studied all these rules. I would need a good grammar book to look them up!
