Does earth absorbs all the energy that comes from the sun?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know the number exactly. But lets say the sun delivers (E) amount of energy. Do you think the earth and all its environments absorb's that (E)?

OpenStudy (anoop27):

No

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is no. I don't know the percentage of the energy that the earth does absorb, but it's actually very small. If the earth absorbed even a percent that we would think, well that sounds reasonable, the earth would not be able to support life. The sun releases so much energy that it's actually pretty difficult for our minds to grasp.
