Though the confederate army did indeed use Black soldiers it was more of a conscription than an open JOIN THE ARMY sort of thing. They basically took slaves, handed them a uniform, musket, told them how to load and take cover and said GET OUT THERE! So we cant really consider that. Now, let's look at our choices.
