What equation would I use to solve this?: How long would it take a bolt dropped from a 1.3m ladder to reach the ground?

this is a vertical translational kinematics problem. we have: displacement = -1.3m acceleration = -9.81 m/s^2 initial velocity = 0m/s (since it is just dropped!) to find = time = t which of the three kinematic equations connects all the "4" quantities?

I used d = vi*t + .5at^2 and got .515s Is that correct?

yes. good job
