12. 12 can be reduced by 6 and if 12 was doubled or times 2 it would be 24. but that might not be the answer
Call the number n decrease the number by 6: n - 6 double the result: (n - 6)*2 it equals 24, so 2(n - 6) = 24 First, divide both sides by 2. Then add 6 to both sides.
