Which equation represents a direct linear variation? A. B. y = x + 2 C. y = x2 D. y = ½x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a is y=1/x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok well a direct linear variation means that it must be a straight line and it must pass through the origin. so c is out because that curves. a is out because x can't be zero. and b is out because it crosses the y axis at 2 instead of zero. c is the correct answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but I thought c is out because it curves

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my mistake I meant D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

woops lol
