Here is the problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you make the denominators equal so that you can just combine the numerator??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, there is no need to do like this..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Choices are: x+2/(x+5)2, x ≠ −5 x+2/x+5, x ≠ −5 2/5, x ≠ −5 I have already ruled the other choices out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Factor out 2 from the first fraction..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok is the 1st answer correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can't tell you this.. Just factor out 2 from numerator of first fraction and then cancel what you can cancel there..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{2x+10}{(x+5)(x+5)}=\frac{2(x+5)}{(x+5)(x+5)}=\frac{2}{x+5}\] so you can add \[\frac{2}{x+5}+\frac{x}{x+5}\] by adding up in the numerator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok
