OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

Use f(x) = 10 - 3 l 2x - 4 l to find..... c.) f(0) - 7

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

@MATTW20

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

K so u put (0 -7) in for x right?

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

Yea, srry about tht :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no just substitute zero for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

only substitute what is inside the parentheses

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

Ok so wat about the - 7 then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that part comes at the very end

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right now just substitute and solve

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

Ok so just ignore it for now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

K So, I got 22 for the overall problem. Do I subtract tht from - 7?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no sorry that is incorrect it isn't 22

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

Ok let me do it again... haha srry I ask alot of questions and take forever to type lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it's cool

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm doin stuff in between

OpenStudy (anonymous):

don't forget it's absolute value so make sure you take a positive inside the absolute value markers

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

\[10 - 3 | 2(0) - 4| \rightarrow 10 - 3| -4 | \rightarrow 10 - 3( -4) \] tht wat I did...

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

ohh thts wat I did wrong..

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

Oh so the answers -2 then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, now comes the -7

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

k

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so we found f(0) =-2 so what's f(0)-7

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

I dont understand...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just substitute. if f(0)=2 then f(0)-7 is the same thing as -2-7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does that make sense?

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

so then the answers -9?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

U could have said subtract them...

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea i suppose

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

Oh so now I see what u meant. U just have to put ur answer in for (0) and subtract it by -7. Ok tht makes sense.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

K thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you're welcome

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

K if I need anymore help I will ask, but thanks ur great! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why, Thank You.

OpenStudy (e.cociuba):

haha lol :P
