Jerry was given the following quadratic equation, y = x² + 2x - 8, and was told to sketch the graph. He found the vertex to be (-1, -9) and found the roots or zeros as: (4, 0) and (-2, 0). He plotted these three points then made a sketch. Somewhere Jerry made a mistake! Please explain where he made the mistake.
