8w+16+w^2

OpenStudy (strawberry17):

Is it asking to simplify or factor?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Factor.

OpenStudy (strawberry17):

First rearrange to x^2 + 8w + 16 Then, find two numbers that when multiplied equal 16 and that when added equal 8 and place them in these parentheses: (w +_)(w + _)

OpenStudy (strawberry17):

Since they will both be positive numbers I put pluses in the middle, but this may not always be the case.

I think I understand the basics now. Thank you. :'D
