1 3/4 lbs = 1.75 lbs
So John ordered 1.75 lbs but when it rang up, it read 1.85.
The clerk must subtract...(1.85 - 1.75) = 0.10 lbs

the money it takes to pay the clerk to determine the exact value that John ordered is greater than the cost of .1 lbs of meat.  The clerk should sticker the package as 1.75 and a price tag, and move to the next customer.
