Medal!!! Sam is having his 16th birthday party and wants to make an ice trough to keep drinks cold. He has found a square piece of sheet metal with a side length of 2 metres. He cuts a length, x metres, from each end then bends the sides to form a square based prism trough.

or Each trough measures 4 ft long x 2 ft wide x 1 ft deep and can chill either 40 bottles of wine or, 70 cans or small bottles of beer. Each trough requires 3 large (30lb weight) bags of ice and will last approx 6 hours. Troughs can be topped up with extra ice if required when used over a longer period of time or in very hot conditions. Ice troughs will be collected the next day.
