HELP....... :PDecide if the function is an exponential growth function or exponential decay function, and describe its end behavior using limits......y=0.8^x

OpenStudy (jack1):

decay

OpenStudy (jack1):

as the base is less than 1, as x increases, so will the value of y decrease

OpenStudy (jack1):

try it yourself: if x = 1, y = ...? now if x = 5, y = ...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0.8^5=0.32768? y=.8?

OpenStudy (jack1):

yep, perfect and as x increases, y will decrease and almost but never quite reach 0 as x decreases, y will increase and almost but never quite reach 1

OpenStudy (jack1):

so for positive values for x, i suppose the limits would be 0 - infinity, yielding y values of 1 - 0

OpenStudy (jack1):

ish

sorry my internet went out , thank you!
