my answer is b!!!! :) Solve for x. |x - 2| + 10 = 12 x = 4 and x = 0 x = -15 and x = 9 x = -4 and x = -2 x = -3 and x = 1 no solutions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay these aren't numbered so what one of these is "B"?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would assume the second choice.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is what she means by "b"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah...thats what I thought lol. Im gonna say I think the answer is the first one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, my apologies.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

| | mean opposite?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I agree with @zerosniper123 I would say the first one also.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It means the absolute value...Which in this case does mean the opposite sign. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you babies

OpenStudy (anonymous):

| | is like how many spaces it is from 0 So |-2|=2 and |2|=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh that makes sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i found my answer loves:)

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

|x - 2| + 10 = 12 Subtract 10 from both sides |x - 2| = 2 Now set what is inside the abdolute value signs equal to 2 and equal to -2. Solve both equations. x - 2 = 2 or x - 2 = -2 Add 2 to both sides (in both equations) x = 4 or x = 0
