according to newton what effect does earths gravitational field have on the moon? ( choose as many as apply) A. it acts as a centripetal force on the moon B. it changes the moons velocity C. it causes the moon to fall below the straight line path it would otherwise follow D. it increases the mass of the moon i said c

OpenStudy (aravindg):

No its A ..the entire reason why the m oon moves around the earth is due to the centre petal force provided by gravity

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes but wouldnt it be both then?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B is also correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be a and b what about c isnt tht correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think all 3 are

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol i dnt kno in my book i read bout the straight line bt im nt sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I do not believe its d because there is no mass transfer between the earth and the moon

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A, B & C

alright thank u guys so much :)
