Yes you are right its a cylinder .... the radius will be 1 inch and that will give you the surface area for whole thing ..Make sure you understand how we got that .Any doubts?

area pf circle = pi *r*r now here 2 circles for cylinder so 2*pi *r*r now the curved area =2*pi*r*l total surface area =2* pi*1^2 + 2*pi*1*L
