During the War of 1812, Tecumseh joined with the British in the defense of Canada. What motive did Tecumseh have to join with the British in the War of 1812? He wanted to annex parts of Canada for his people. The British promised him a large sum of money if they won. The Americans had attacked his people many times before. The British told him they would enslave his people if he did not fight.
