What is a verbal? Also what is a infinitive?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have you heard of Participles, Gerunds, and Infinitives? They are all "verbals." "Verbals" are words that can be used in ways other than just verbs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An "infinitive" is a verbal. It looks almost like a verb, but it is not a verb. And it usually comes after the word "to." For example, "I love TO COLLECT stamps." "To collect" is the infinitive. It's not the verb. Because the verb, in this sentence, is actually "love."
