weathering would be something is weakened by wind, water, temperature and sometimes biotic factors such as moss (feeds on rocks and trees).

Erosion is when something is actual moved by weathering, wind blows sediment down a mountain, or rain carries sediment to its lowest point. Temperature freezes and breaks rock and causes it to fall when the ice melts.
