How to find the volume of a square pyramid ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[Volume = \frac{ 1 }{ 3 }b^{2}h\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Volume of Pyramid = (1/3)b²h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If I post the question can you walk me through to ge tthe answer ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think so(:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

126 cm3 907.5 cm3 605 cm3 55 cm3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'll rather retype it, don't want to create confusion! Identify the length and width of the base (when done multiply) So, 11x11=121 Then, multiply the area of the base by the height So, 121x15=1815 Divide this by 3 1815/3=605. < that's the final answer(:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thank you . I wasnt dividiing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh! it happens, But you're good to go now! ;3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank You

Find the volume of a square pyramid with base edges of 48 cm and a slant height of 26 cm.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7,680

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well... ((48^2)(10))/3=V=7,680 P.S. You have to use pythagorean theorem to calculate the height rather than slant height

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do I find the volume of a cone ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

t find the volume of the cone we use formula V=1/3(pi)r^2h

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about for this one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the formula would be V=1/3*(pi)*9^2*26

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you solve that on your own? or do you want my help also? (:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im not getting a correct answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please show me how to solve bc I tried but did not get any of my answer choices .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay let's see, V=(1/3)(3.14)(9^2)(26) [9^2=81] V=2204.28

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank You
