Why the relation is or is not a function? {(-5, 7), (-2, -1), (0, 3), (4, 7)}?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Also, (8, -4), (-2, 0), (1, 3), (-2, 6)? Please explain why or why not for both of them, thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if any of the first numbers repeat, then not a function if the first numbers are all different, then it is a function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if the domain or the x or the first number in teh order par repeats it is not a function

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the first is a function and teh second is becasue -2 repeats in teh second

Thanks.
