3/2 (x+8) = 6x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x + 8 = 4x \] after simplifying it. Can you do it now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do i multiply 8 on both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. Take the x to the other side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How much do you get now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont get this stuff

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply by 2 first to clear the denominator then divide by 3 and you will get x + 8 = 4x. Now you want the x's on the same side so subtract the x on the left to get 8= 3x. You want to get the x alone so divide by three and you get x=8/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

After taking x to the other side, you get: 3x = 8 So, \[x = \frac{ 8 }{ 3 }\]
